land acknowledgement
We acknowledge that we are on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Dakota people, specifically the Bdewakantowan (Mdewakanton) division of the Eastern Dakota. This area along the scenic Minnesota River Valley, where the waters are so clear they reflect the clouds, has been a site of trade, ceremony, and community for centuries. We recognize the Dakota people as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land, and we honor the continued relationship between Dakota people and their traditional territories. We are committed to moving forward in partnership with Native Nations in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
